Feeling Much Better

We locked Freckles out of the bedroom last night and I slept well. I still have a little tickle in my throat and an accompanying cough. But I think I can get back to normal activities again today.

Alyssa also seemed to be getting better during the day yesterday. We hope she's waking up this morning feeling even better and better.

Alyssa may get a little sick to her stomach when she turns on the news and learns that Obama has won.

But I'm pleased with the Presidential election results. We had two-terms of Republican control of the White House. It was time for a switch. Quite frankly I think the country, and the world, has gotten quite tired of Mr. Bush. It gives us a chance to make a new start, create more friends instead of enemies, and drop our image of being a big bully.

Plus, I think it's very overdue that we have some diversity in the White House. It's past time that an African-American or a woman was represented in our top post. We are a diverse nation, and all groups deserve representation. This is America after all.

My parents are stopping over around lunchtime today to drop off some shirts for us to wear at a family portrait session on Sunday morning. Then we're going to head out for a little lunch somewhere in or around Marietta.

The son of good friends of our family is studying photography and offered to take a portrait of our family as part of his portfolio work. I look forward to seeing the Krall family on Sunday. They are great folks.

I need to get back to normal activity today. So I'm going to try to get some morning exercise in and get back to work on a brochure I've been designing.

After all the debates, after all the advertisements, hopefully we can all come together now as a nation, as a state, as a city, as a town or as a village, and forge a good road ahead.

Sorry that you feel so good about the new president -- I just hope you are right. I think this man is pure evil that will forever change the White House and give cause for our enemies to "invade" what is left of the Christian nation we were founded upon. I do hope I am wrong but with the photos of him in his muslim garb and his refusal to salute the flag and his association with Jeremiah Wright for 20 years (a man who preached hate for white America) and all those left wing terrorist groups he is linked to, I just hope there is enough honest people left in Congress to keep this man in tow. If you feel there is a need for diversity in the White House, there were other blacks/Hispanics and women that would have been a whole lot better than this character. Well, the dastardly deed is done so all we can do now is hope and pray for the best. What people seem to forget is that President Bush never made a decision in Washington by himself yet his sat there and was very willing to take all the blame by himself -- he never once pointed a finger at anybody. Someday look up the speech on Colin Powell where he takes the sole blame for the war in Iraq -- that he talked the President into going to war and also made a big push and appeal to Congress to approve the war in Iraq. Never once has Bush pointed the finger at him. It certainly is not the President's fault that people spent billions of dollars on credit cards, houses and cars that they could not afford sending our economy into the present tailspin. You always had an analytical mind -- too bad you didn't analyze this whole situation better.

Like I said, I hope I am wrong about this man and that life will only get better for all of us over the next 4 years but all the arrows are not pointing in that direction. Now that the Democrats have a complete control of all the affairs of our government, I see the start of a socialistic state that is totally bound to fail as it has in other countries. Diversity, there is no longer diversity in our government any more. His appointments to the Supreme Court will become the most liberal we have ever had and his cabinet posts will be the worst we have ever encountered. This man owes a lot to his buddies who are anti American. Love Ya MOM

It's time to take down the fences. We are not a globe full of countries anymore. We are becoming one global country, and it is inevitable.

All those who still want to build fences will be left by the wayside.

This African-American President-Elect with multi-national family background has a good chance to bring all people together, all over the world, as uphill of a battle as that will be.

Forget the politics. Forget race or nationality. Break every issue down to simple morals and values.

Just ask yourself, are you OK with watching people go bankrupt, suffer and even die because our system of health insurance is badly broken? (those are the words of the AMA)

Should we show all Muslims hate because a portion of their society shows us hate? Or should we teach them through our actions how to accept diversity, the foundation of this country?

It's one world, and we're all brothers and sisters under one God. We seem to forget that. We seem to build fences.
